Ed was born and raised in northern Ohio and has been making music from a young age. He is an active musician in the Bay Area musical theatre scene, having played acoustic and electric guitar in over 30 pit orchestras. He has also played for many years with the Oasis Big Band in Newark. By day, Ed is an engineer in the semiconductor industry. He got his PhD in electrical engineering from The Ohio State University and spend his early career designing audio hardware, including soundcards and the 3D audio hardware in the original XBOX. He is currently an SOC chip architect at NVIDIA.
Bob Noto started performing in the early seventies and has been an active part of the Bay Area music scene ever since. His musical capabilities and versatility has enabled him to be able to handle the many genres of music today. A master of many styles, Bob is as comfortable laying down swinging jazz accompaniments as he is playing rock and R&B.
After growing up in San Ramon Ca, Mike attended the University of California, Santa Cruz where he studied Film and Digital Media as well as Music. While attending UCSC, Mike performed with both the Big Band and Small Jazz Combos. Over the last decade, he has performed in numerous groups throughout the Bay Area, playing everything from jazz to rock and roll. He currently lives in San Jose, Ca with his girlfriend Lisa and dog Brody.
Dana has been playing piano since he was 4 years old. His performing career started at age 7 performing rag time at restaurants in the Boston area. He fell in love with jazz at age 10 hearing Weather Report for the first time. He studied in Boston at the famous Saltman Music School where he learned the Saltman method for jazz piano playing originally published in 1937. Later Dana grew up playing in practice rooms at Berklee College of Music through high school and then played his way through college in New Orleans.
He has performed with Woody Herman, Bill Watrous, Wynton Marsalis, Dave Grusin, Lee Ritenour and more. He took up the trombone briefly in high school and college but says “Those days are gone.” Sigh. He has performed with a number of bands across the Bay Area ranging from Ballroom Dance music to a British rock band (no he’s not British) to alternative rock to dance and funk music.
